I have started dabbling in stained glass sculpture. Here are some pics of my first attempt. This butterfly is a featured item at “My Giving Tree” in Belton, TX. The wings are a mixture of mottled, iridized, clear and purple/blue
textured glass and light yellow nuggets. The body is hand-cast metal with wire details. I finished it with a pewter patina and mounted the butterfly to a twisted wire and brass tube stand with an antiqued finish. I am looking forward to the next sculpture!
This is a panel I made honoring a good friend and all of our veterans.
To him and to all who serve and have served to preserve our freedom, "Thank you for your service to our country!" God bless you and God bless America.
It's a little drafty in here... You can keep tabs on this project and other things going on in the shop here.
I know, I know... But, welcome to the new website! There are still some tweaks to make along the way, but I am excited about the new platform and looking forward to the coming year. The past year has been a great learning experience for me about what it means to be an artist-business owner. I will admit it has been quite an adjustment not being tied to the corporate world and the this-is-just-the-way-it-is negative effects it had on my life, health and relationships. But, by the grace of God and the love and support of my wonderful wife, I have been blessed to wake up every day and do what I absolutely love. I have always loved to draw and work with my hands and stained glass offers me the best of both worlds. To the people I am meeting along the way and the clients and customers that have been so gracious with their encouraging words, trust and patronage, I say, "Thank you!" I am truly blessed. Stay tuned...
